7 Ways to Prepare for a Fire

It’s fireplace and woodstove season – and there’s no better time to be sure your family is prepared in the event of a home fire. 

The American Red Cross offers 7 Ways to Prepare for a Home Fire, starting with installing the right number of smoke alarms.  They suggest teaching children what a smoke alarm sounds like, and what to do when they hear one.  You should also be sure to develop a family emergency communication plan, and that you create and practice an escape plan.
