Don’t Melt Your Siding and Other BBQ Tips

June 27th, 2018

It’s finally BBQ season.  Time to fire up the grill and…melt the siding?  It happens, as shown in this photo of a grilling disaster. Lucky for you, Sal Paone Builders cares enough about your hot dogs, burgers, chicken and home to offer a few safety tips!

Remember to always keep your grill at least 10 feet away from your home when grilling.  Before using it for the first time, inspect it for things that can build up in the off season, like bugs, leaves and other debris.  Check it for leaks and breaks in the gas hose, and give your grill a good cleaning before lighting it for the first BBQ. Be especially careful with gas grills. They have a higher likelihood of starting a fire than a charcoal grill.

For more tips, check out this article from Mr. Handyman or this one from the National Fire Protection Association.  Then bust out your basting brush and BBQ something incredible!
